Well it’s April 1st and today is our departure date out of the Port of Los Angeles on Princess Cruise’s “Emerald Princess” ship. We are so excited to begin a 3 month international adventure and today is Day 1… We set sail today for a complete passage of the Panama Canal over the next 16 days with several unique stops before arriving
10/18/22: On this day we continue our trek South from St. Louis along the Great Mississippi River Trail to the Border of Tennessee and Arkansas. Although we have been through many parts of the Volunteer State, Memphis has alluded us on the very Western Border for years. We know they are known for their BBQ, Blues Music, Civil Rights, Elvis, and FedEX though it just hasn’t worked in our plans until now. We had booked a campground in West Memphis
9/14/22: We crossed the border back into the USA on I-87 New York State. We actually have crossed this border in the past, as we both went to Undergrad at SUNY Plattsburgh near here, though that was many years ago… The border crossing went easy and we continued South to Warrensburg, NY, near Lake George, for our next campsite. The campground is River View Campground. Every 2 years Joanne’s college friends gather here for a weekend of catching-up, girl talk
8/8/2022: Crossing the border and Fundy National Park When we completed the ArriveCAN forms we estimated we would cross the border around noon and that is just about the time we arrived. When Joanne’s sister Deb and her husband Tony crossed over into Campobello, they had to give up all their eggs and raw chicken. So yesterday Joanne spent the afternoon hard boiling some eggs and breading / frying chicken! – Then of course we were not asked about it!
