For years in our working life we would take a Spring cruise during April break when Joanne was teaching and I was still free before the start of my company’s busy season. We always felt it was a perfect week to get some sunshine, get re-charged, and just relax before the Spring push and then the summer season. Well it’s April 1st and today is our departure date out of the Port of Los Angeles on Princess Cruise’s “Emerald Princess” ship. 10/18/22: On this day we continue our trek South from St. Louis along the Great Mississippi River Trail to the Border of Tennessee and Arkansas. Although we have been through many parts of the Volunteer State, Memphis has alluded us on the very Western Border for years. We know they are known for their BBQ, Blues Music, Civil Rights, Elvis, and FedEX though it just hasn’t worked in our plans until now. We had booked a campground in West Memphis
9/14/22: We crossed the border back into the USA on I-87 New York State. We actually have crossed this border in the past, as we both went to Undergrad at SUNY Plattsburgh near here, though that was many years ago… The border crossing went easy and we continued South to Warrensburg, NY, near Lake George, for our next campsite. The campground is River View Campground. Every 2 years Joanne’s college friends gather here for a weekend of catching-up, girl talk
